L.C.A. FILMS was just informed today that OPTIMYSTIC has been accepted into the 2006 Accolade Competition. We should know of its status by the end of December, early January. It was submitted under the Drama/Entertainment category. Click here for more information about the Accolade Awards.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Jeffie Legend, one of the lead actresses in DIVINE SOULS. She died this morning of Pancreatic Cancer in New Mexico, where she had just been booked on the new movie HAVE DREAMS WILL TRAVEL, where she was cast alongside Lara-Flynn Boyle and Val Kilmer. She was scheduled to start filming tomorrow. Jeffie's service will be held on Saturday, October 28th in Keene, Tx. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends.

We are currently in the process of trying to raise funds for both GOD'S CHOSEN and REMEMBER THE BEST TIMES. Both films will be made regardless, but of course a budget would be nice. If you are interested in becoming an investor please contact us. We have a Business Plan ready for you to view.

L.C.A. FILMS has just acquired the rights to Steve Maisch's screenplay, GOD'S CHOSEN. The story follows Caleb, an ex-cop with a shattered past, who travels the country with a nine year old psychic named Precious who claims to communicate with God. With the help from Precious' special gift, Caleb hunts down child predators and administers his own personal form of justice. Pre-Production will begin in the Summer.

OPTIMYSTIC is now officially completed. We are currently in the process of submitting it to IFILM and other various music video festivals. Watch this space!

James is currently working on a new screenplay with Vincent Scuro, the award-winning author of the international thriller THE LOGAN FACTOR. Titled REMEMBER THE BEST TIMES, it tells the story of a successful independent filmmaker who returns to his hometown for a reunion with family and friends. Of course, Murphy's Law is just around the corner...

OPTIMYSTIC is close to finishing. We have one day left to wrap up but of course, the lovely Texas weather just can't decide what it wants to do. First it's sunny, then it's overcast, then it's sunny again and then we have thunderstorms with torrential downpours and 12 inches of rain and flooding. Watch this space!

January 17th, 2006

Filming on the music video "OPTIMYSTIC" by Erin McGrew commenced on January 14th. Filming will continue for the next few weeks where James and crew will shoot exteriors at Scarborough Faire before it opens in April. The video, when completed, will be submitted to VH1 and MTV.
