In the hallways of this clinic, there are many untold stories. Through Kerri's eyes, a caring and compassionate nurse, we will see just a few of them. We will meet David, a nine year-old boy who holds the key to Kerri's heart and Lisa, a new patient with a dark secret. Through the good times and the bad times, DIVINE SOULS is a touching story of love and hope over adversity, and humanity at its best.

DS started shooting in April of 2003, the day after filming on THE PHOTOGRAPH had ended. James continues. "Usually I'll shoot a film, finish it, edit it and then premiere it before I start on my next film but I was so hyped up to start on DS that the Friday we shot our last scene for TP, the next day we started shooting on DS. The film was cast and we had locations that I felt might not be available for very much longer so with everything falling into place for us I decided to start shooting right away." A bold choice seeing that James would now be editing TP while simultaneously shooting DS but it was a move that paid off.

"One of our Producers, Stacy Meier, worked at Baylor Medical Centre in Dallas and I asked her if there might be a possibility of us being able to shoot there and they gave us an entire ward to use on weekends as it was only used Monday through Friday."

As filming at the hospital came close to finishing, James and cast and crew were informed that the ward they were using was going to be turned into a fulltime children's ward and that they had a short time to finish the rest of the film. James recalls. "We were close to finishing our scenes at the hospital when we were informed of that news. We got the rest of the scenes completed and then when I was editing, I started to worry. I started thinking about scenes that maybe didn't come out as expected or the possibility of having to do reshoots. It so happened that we did have to go back and do some reshoots but luckily for us, the hospital was running behind in their schedule to change the ward over so we got to go back in for one more weekend and finished everything up."

Filming took place throughout Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano and Caddo Mills from April of 2003 through July of 2004. Sadly, in October of 2006, one of the film's stars, Jeffie Legend, passed away from Cancer. It was her first major starring role. Ironically, the film premiered on Wednesday, March 28th at the Magnolia Theatre in Dallas as part of the 2007 AFI Dallas International Film Festival, five months after Jeffie's passing. The movie was dedicated in her memory.
